⚈⚈⚈NON-SPOILER REVIEW⚈⚈⚈

Directed by Darius Marder, Sound of Metal is a journey of accepting the silence. The sound mixing at the end sequence to give the viewers the sense of the auditory experience is one of the best I've seen till date. Kudos to the music directors Nicholas Baker and Abraham Marder for giving the viewers that experience. The plot is engaging and a little fast-paced. The cinematography is good but could've been better.

Riz Ahmed (Ruben) gives one of his career's best after 'The Night of (2016)' and 'Nightcrawler (2014)'. Though the supporting actor Paul Raci (Joe) acted brilliantly, however, Riz Ahmed took the ultimate bulk in this movie. His facial expressions, while he was both drumming and losing his hearing, is one of the best scenes in this movie and he nailed that scene. He deserves more appreciation.

Olivia Cooke (Lou) did a better-than-average job. I was expecting more from her. Also as the story is more focused on Ruben, we get to see only a few scenes of Lou.

Overall, this movie is uplifting and a good movie to get the motivation to learn 'Sign Language'. This is one of the best movies of 2020 and on my Top 10 best movies of 2020 list.

My final verdict: That silence. Uplifting. A must watch. Highly Recommended.

My overall score: 9.0⭐/10
