"See! Alphabets, so much confusion. Numbers, no confusion! What you see is what you getting." - Shakuntala Devi (2020)
Bollywood's attempt to make a biopic on the great mathematician Shakuntala Devi Ji is appreciable. But, in a somewhat non-linear plot, they deviated from an important theme- the biography of her. The director added components of feminism to garner positive reviews. Why can't a biopic be made biopic? Why the director always has to mold the plot of a biopic? I am disappointed with the acting of Vidya Balan. Overdramaticism ruined this movie too. Showcasing only mother-daughter issues cannot be said a biopic.
If you want to watch a biopic of another Indian mathematician, I will refer you to watch The Man Who Knew Infinity. It's so much better.
My final verdict: Utterly disappointed. Just a pass-time movie. You should watch something else.
My overall score: 4⭐/10
